Joining a cycling club for the first time can seem a daunting prospect. Questions such as "Am I fast enough to keep up?", "What if I can't ride that far?" often cross people's minds.
Several of our members have opted to be cycling buddies for new starters. They will arrange to ride with you to your first club ride or event so you will already know at least one person and you don't have to arrive alone. They will commit to riding the whole of the first event with you. If for any reason you decide it's not for you, they will ensure you get home safely.
If you wish to take advantage of our buddy system drop us a message using the Contact Us button below. One of our buddies will contact you to discuss your requirements and arrange to mentor you on a future ride.
Membership is on a rolling yearly basis and runs from 1st April to the 31st March. If you are new to the club and wish to join from October onwards, we offer a discount on the annual price for both Family and Senior memberships.
Current Membership fees
If you are ready to join us or renew your exisiting membership you can do this online using the link below.
We understand that some people prefer pen and paper and good old cash or cheques. If this is you, then you can request to join/renew by downloading and completing the paper membership form below.
NOTE: If you wish to apply for a rider aged under 18, please use the paper application form. This is because we need to see and keep the declaration signed by their parent or guardian.
As with any club you will be asked to agree to our Terms and Conditions prior to joining us. There will be a link for you to review the terms but if at any time you would like to review the current T&Cs, you can do so using the document below.
And finally, when you join online you will see mention of the option to join British Cycling. This is NOT required to join our club. If you do not want a British Cycling membership, ignore the "Join British Cycling" button and proceed directly to "Proceed to Payment".
All club members are expected to hold 3rd party liability insurance during their membership. This means that if you cause an accident, damage someone else's property or injure someone whilst out cycling then you have insurance in place to cover any costs. Insurance which will provide up to £15 million of cover is available from as little as £25 per year.
If you are thinking of joining the club and would like to try a few club runs or training rides whilst you decide then the club has an insurance policy that will cover you for up to three rides. Thereafter you will be expected to join the club and source your own 3rd party insurance.
It is the individual member's responsibility to ensure they have sufficient appropriate third party insurance in place.
The club currently affiliates to Cycle UK and British Cycling allowing the club members access to their affiliate insurance schemes.

Membership of the National Clarion is on an individual basis. For the avoidance of doubt, no member of the club is obliged to join the (National) Clarion Cycling Club. If you wish to join then you must do so individually via their website (https://clarioncc.org/join-us/)
CCW does not hold any information about individual National Clarion Membership.
