The club has a long history of touring and exploring by bike, ranging from local day tours, Audax and multi day tours, both at home and abroad.
The club usually has a trip to the mountains of Europe (Alps, Pyrenees etc) in September. Usually three club members take a van with all the member's bikes to the destination, a day later the rest of the members fly to the airport nearest the destination and travel by car to the accommodation. Accomodation is usually chalet style on a self catering basis in groups of five. Cost usually is in the region of £400 - £500 for a full week including all travel costs, this does not include food or drink (alcohol is occasionally consumed in the evenings).
The club has a weekend away on the weekend in October when the clocks go back. The usual format is 65 mile each way carrying all you need for a night out with you. A pub lunch on the way out before continuing and arriving at a hotel. Once showered and changed it is usually out for an early sitting at a local Indian restaurant followed by a few drinks in the local town before retiring to bed in the knowledge that there is an extra hours sleep as the clocks go back. Up for a big breakfast on the Sunday before riding 65 mile home, usually with a cafe stop halfway on the following day.

The British Cycle Quest is all about getting outside and cycling to find as many points of interest across the whole of Britain as you can. This is a challenge you've got the rest of your life to complete - there are no time limits - and you're on your way as soon as you've cycled down the road and located your very first checkpoint.
Checkpoints are scattered evenly throughout England, Wales and Scotland, including several of our outlying islands. Wherever you are you'll most likely find one or two checkpoints within cycling range.
Several or our members are actively engaged in visiting all 402 locations in Cycle UK's British Cycle Quest.
